2010 Men's Competition

Weekly Men's Day
Men's Wednesday afternoon/evening is played with competitor's vying for Flight prizes and the weekly Closest to the Hole awards. Play is followed by dinner specials on the patio over looking the 9th and 18th greens. Players book their own Tee-Time anytime after 2 PM. The formal competition starts beginning of May continuing to end of September. Before and after the formal competition, informal events are arrange weather permitting.
Weekly Senior Men's Competition
Senior men play early Monday morning for a nominal entry fee and small prizes. The Proshop arranges a different game played each week from the white tees for 55 and over members.
Monthly Medal Qualifier Competition
Early in May, June, July and August is the Monthly Medal Qualifier Competition, the top three winners in the Gross and Net divisions will qualify for the Monthly Medal Championship in late August. Make your own tee time, play before 11:00am, pay your entry fee on the day of play, with the only stipulation that you play with a fellow member who will keep and attest your score. Gross winners must have a handicap of 9 or under. The prizes for each Monthly Medal will be determined by the number of entrants for each event with a maximum of three gross and ten net winners.
Men's Opening Four Man Scramble
Each four man team will be formed as equitable as possible with a player from A, B, C and D flights. 8:00 AM Shotgun Start
Spring Championship
The low 16 net scores in the Spring Championship will qualify for the Match Play Championship. 50% of the entry fee will go to prizes for the Spring and 50% will go to the Match Play prizes. Ties will be broken by GAO Rules for 16th place. New members must have 5 differentials registered in the computer before playing.
Match Play Qualifier
You may qualify for the Match Play tournament schedule for 8 days in late May. You must inform the Pro Shop before you play your Qualifying round and you must play with a fellow member who keeps and attests your score. Low 48 scores (net) will qualify for the Men's Match Play Championship. One attempt only. Ties will be broken by GAO Rules for 48th place. New members must have 5 differentials registered in the computer before playing the Qualifying round.
Match Play Competition
Men's Match Play Competition will run to the conclusion of the event in September. All matches will be completed within the announced time frame. If a match is tied after 18 holes, subject to starting time availability and daylight, you may play a six hole playoff, and if tied, a further three holes. If still tied after the extra holes, the match must be replayed. The extra holes playoff may only be played on the day of the match. All Match Play non-qualifier and first round knockouts will be entered in the Consolation Match Play Competition.
Senior Championship.
Early July is a two day 36 hole competition for both A & B Flight and Super Seniors (over 64). Total Gross and Net prizes for each flight. Members must have a minimum of ten current year handicap differentials to enter.
Club Championship.
The premier competion for the year is held over 3 days.
- A Flight – Must be 5.0 index or lower. 54 hole total - Black Tees
- B, C & D flights will be divided equally into divisions from 5.1 index and up
- B Flight 54 hole total - Blue Tees. - C&D Flights 36 hole total - Blue Tees
If a "B" flight contestant wishes to compete for the Club Championship he must play the Black Tees in "A" Flight. Advanced Juniors & Intermediate Membes are eligible.
Medal Championship Playoff
There will be four Monthly Medal events offering Gross and Net Prizes in the tournament season. The top three winners in the Gross and Net divisions in each of the four events will qualify for the Monthly Medal Championship playoff. The Net and Gross qualifiers will each play for the “winner take all” gift certificate prize. Each division is separate – no crossovers. That is: if you are in the Gross Division you cannot win the Net Division prize and vice versa. If the three qualifiers in the May event (3 Gross, 3 Net) place in the top three in the June, July or August events the next player(s), 4th, 5th, 6th etc will qualify for the playoff, ensuring that twelve players will play in the final in each of the two divisions.
Wednesday Men's Guest Day
Scheduled late August members invite guests for a shotgun start of fun and prizes. Everyone is welcome.
Ryder Cup
Early September for two days is the Ryder Cup –Lefties vs Righties: Two - Twelve Man Teams – 27 holes per day. 8:00am starting time on Back nine both days.
George S. Lyon Team at Rattlesnake Point
The George S. Lyon team championship in September will be composed of the low four finishers at the completion of the 54 hole Club Championship. If any of the top four cannot attend the tournament, the fifth place finisher in the Club Championship will be the first alternate; the sixth place will be second alternate etc. The George S. Lyon Team entry is paid by the team members.
Fall Best Ball.
Late September is the two man Best Ball - Pick your Own Partner. Use 100% of current handicap.
Pre Turkey Scramble.
Draw for partners for a day of fun.

2010 Ladies Competition

Weekly Open Ladies Golf League
No Handicap required for this Thursday after 4 pm event. Everyone is welcome. Nominal entry fee and special 9 hole golf fee for guests.
Tuesday Ladies Day
Ladies play early tuesday morning for various games for fun and prizes.
May Opening Ladies Day Scramble
Opening 18 hole scramble. Early dinner and prizes $25.00.Members must have a minimum of SEVEN differentials from September 1, 2008 and 2009 to enter any event using handicaps. If a member does not record her scores the committee will post her lowest score as a reminder penalty.To play in the weekend competitions, participants must be seven day members.
Tuesday Ladies Spring Championship.
Members must have a minimum of SEVEN differentials to enter any event using handicaps. If a member does not record her scores the committee will post her lowest score as a reminder penalty.
Beginning Ladies Match Play.
Club Trophy Event: Club Crested Memento awarded to winner. Event will run from approximately June 1 to conclusion of play.
Ladies Guest Day.
1:00 pm shotgun. $30.00 per member, $30.00 for first guest, $50.00 for each additional guest. This format will permit a member to create her own foursome for the total price of $150.00 if she wishes. Price includes golf (closest to the hole prizes for members and guests on specified holes), lunch and prizes.
Ladies Handicap Championship
Ladies' Handicap Championship - 8:30am start. Club Trophy Event – Club Crested Memento awarded to the winner. 36 hole net total. Members must have a minimum of seven 2009 differentials to enter.The number of participants will determine the number of divisions.
Ladies Club Championship
Two day Ladies' Club Championship A and B Flights. Club Trophy Event – Club crested memento will be awarded to the winner of the Ladies' Club Championship. 36 hole gross total. "A" Flight must be a 12.0 Index or Lower. Advanced Juniors with Intermediate Memberships are eligible to play in the Club Championship. To play in the weekend competitions, participants must be seven day members.

2010 Mixed and Junior Competitions

Noon Mixed Golf and Dinner
Scheduled for the long weekends of the summer. Come out and meet fellow members at the Mixed Scramble Golf and Dinner social event. Single and couples are welcome for a day of fun.
Co-ed Match Play Championship
Season Long competition for men and lady teams. Enter by May
August Hospice Dufferin Charity Tournament
Hospice Dufferin Charity Tournament 8:30 shotgun. This is the Club's major charity event. All green fees are given to Hospice Dufferin. Please try to support this important event. It's a fun-filled day.
Parent/Guardian Junior and Jr-Jr Competition.
Parent/ Jr-Jr Alternate Shot Competition. Snacks, refreshments and prizes after play.
